ToggleBeige + Brown + Green
Joanna Gaines first became known for her love of neutrals (white shiplap, anyone?), and while she’s expanded her palette, she hasn’t completely abandoned the world of warm whites. For this living room featured on Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse, Joanna looked on the light side—only this time around, the “white” (seen on the walls, ceiling, and beams) is more of a warm beige with a lot of nuance. Darl stained window trim frames the view of the outdoors, and a green upholstered mid-century sofa connects the indoors with its surroundings.

Featured in a library makeover on Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, this deep slate gray with subtle blue undertones offers nice contrast to the stunning Calacatta marble fireplace surround. When featured on the trim and stairwell (and paired with a beige plaid rug and rattan chairs from Industry West), it feels immersive and serene, not severe.

Woodsy Green + Terra-Cotta
That kitchen! Once you take your eyes off that marble backsplash, you’ll notice the warm woodsy green on the kitchen island. (Joanna had the custom metal island powder-coated in her preferred shade, then topped it with a double bullnose edge marble countertop). Spanish-style terra-cotta flooring lends another layer of color.

Blush Pink + Moody Mauve
The fireplace in this bedroom is just one of seven (!) original fireplaces in the Waco property featured on Fixer Upper: The Castle. “This color is inspired by my grandmother, Agnes Rose,” says Joanna. “It’s a subtle pink with a vintage style.” Here, it pairs well with a faded antique painting and the fireplace’s mauve tile surround.

Navy Blue-Green + Black
In the butler’s pantry featured on Fixer Upper: The Castle, Joanna selected a paint she specifically describes as a rich blend of navy and green. “This color can take on either tone in different light, which makes it both dramatic and cozy all at once,” she says. It works especially well with the rich brown tones of the woodwork and dark kitchen island.
