oly Week Ceremonies
On Holy Thursday, The Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated in the Ballagh at 6.30 p.m. and in Oulart at 7.30 p.m. Good Friday ceremonies will be at 3 p.m. in Oulart and at 5 p.m. in the Ballagh.
On Holy Saturday the Easter Vigil Mass will be celebrated at 6.30 p.m. in the Ballagh and at 8 p.m. in Oulart. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be at 10 a.m. in Oulart and at 11 a.m. in the Ballagh.
Bereavement
The sympathy of the community is extended to the family and friends of the late Séamus Davis, Glentire Heights, The Ballagh, who passed to his eternal reward on Monday, March 28.
He is deeply mourned and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Sheila, daughter Annette, son-in-law Andrew, sisters Josie (Hennessy) and Ann and his brother Mick, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Tommy, George, Pat and John.
The Funeral Mass for Séamus was celebrated in St John the Baptist Church, The Ballagh on Wednesday, March 30, after which he was buried in the adjoining cemetery. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá anam dilís.
Congratulations
Well done to local fundraiser extraordinaire, Joan Kavanagh, who recently presented a cheque for €1,000, to Talk to Tom, the proceeds of a big effort from herself and her son Elvis. They wish to thank everyone who helped in any way and especially those who contributed clothes and scrap in order to raise that great amount, for a very worthy charity.
Wexford camogie
Two Wexford camogie teams will be in action in Croke Park next Saturday with quite a few Oulart-The Ballagh players involved. At 3 p.m. the intermediate team, managed by Alan Brennan will take on Cavan in the Division 3 League Final.
Best of luck to Aideen Brennan (team captain) Aoife Dunne, Katie Roche, Katie Gallagher, Miria O’Dowd and Siobhán Sinnott. The Wexford senior team, that includes Anais Curran will contest the Division 2 League Final against Antrim at 5 p.m. That final will be broadcast live on RTÉ.
Wexford Minor Hurling
Best of luck to the Wexford Minor Hurlers and Oulart-The Ballagh’s representatives Jason Rossiter (goalkeeper) and Simon Roche (centre-forward) who play Kilkenny, in Bellefield next Saturday. The team is managed by Michael Jacob and the selectors are Roger Ennis, Michael Morris, Helena Jacob, Richie Kehoe and Noel Carton. Check official fixtures for the starting time.
Oulart Active Retired
Oulart Active Retired get together in Oulart Community Centre on Tuesdays 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., when bowls are played. New members are always welcome to join the Active Retired. Just turn up on any Tuesday or ring Mary O’Grady for full details (087 9361325).
The Ballagh National School
The Ballagh split-the-pot draw is held every Saturday. It costs only €2 to enter and the winner gets half the pot. A new addition to the draw is called ‘Upfront’ whereby you can pay €20 in advance which entitles you to entry in 11 draws for the price of 10.
Oulart split-the-pot
The latest winner of Scoil Mochua’s split-the-pot was Fiona Dunne, who won €102. Congratulations to the lucky winner and good luck to all the players in the next draw on Monday, April 4. To be in with a chance to win please play in any of the local businesses.
Easter Egg Hunt
Oulart NS parents’ association are delighted to announce the return of their Easter Egg Hunt, at Scoil Mochua, on Sunday, April 10. You are invited to come and hunt an egg from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Children’s Entry is €5 and adults are free. Alongside the Egg Hunt there will be an Easter Raffle and free refreshments for all.
Get Well Wishes
Best wishes for a speedy return to full health to members of the community who are ill at home or in hospital. Be assured that you will be remembered in our private prayers and at Masses in Oulart and the Ballagh.

OUR LADY’S ISLAND
I.C.A. guild
The April meeting of Our Lady’s Island I.C.A. guild will take place on Monday, 11th April at 11a.m. in the Community Hall. We look forward to seeing all members again.
Healing Mass
The Monthly Healing Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Cogley in Our Lady’s Island Church this Wednesday, 6th April at 3p.m.
Adult hurlers
Our hurlers made it 2 wins from 2 when they defeated St Fintan’s last Saturday in the League on a scoreline of 3-13 to 8 points. They are out again in two week,s away to Rathnure. Day and time to be confirmed.
Underage Training
Our youngest members are back training now and new members are welcome. Our Nursery, 7s and 9s train every Wednesday at 6.30. text 0972548236 for full details. We are on the lookout for any Parents who would be willing to assist our Coaches. Even if it’s just to pick up the cones. all help would be most appreciated.

Ballycogley Players
Festival Update: Results from The South Wicklow Drama Festival (Carnew) & Holycross, Tipperary. Placed 3rd in Holycross, not placed in Carnew. Best Supporting Actress Nomination (Carnew)–Justine Murphy, Adjudicators Award–Carnew (Relationship Scene)–Colm Doyle & Diarmuid Buttimer. Best Actor Nomination (Holycross)–Diarmuid Buttimer. Overall Most Promising Actress Award Winner (Holycross)–Justine Murphy.
There are 3 more festivals for ‘The Beacon’ crew to take part in; Kilmuckridge Fri 1st Apr, Ballinamore, Co.Leitrim 8th April & finally Wexford 11th April. Updates on these festivals will be printed in local notes, newsletters and on our social media platforms. We wish all involved in the festival play the very best of luck as they continue on their circuit journey.
The Launch of the 58th Wexford Drama Festival took place in The Riverbank House Hotel on Wednesday 30th March & cast members; Pauline Doyle & Diarmuid Buttimer (who play Biev & Colm) in ‘The Beacon’, acted out part of a scene from the play and was enjoyed by all in attendance. We have the privilege of opening this years Wexford Drama Festival which begins on Monday 11th April in The National Opera House.

OVER THE WATER
Road Run
A reminder that the Over the Water Vintage Club Road Run will take place from Ballymurn village on Sunday next, April 10th at 1 p.m. Registration will take place from 11.30 a.m. Your generous support would be appreciated with all donations going to the local hall restoration fund.
Diary date
Curracloe United AFC will hold their celebratory 50th anniversary dinner in Hotel Curracloe on May 21st. Tickets will be available shortly from committee members.
Activities
The Mens Club meet every Monday morning at 10.30 a.m in Castlebridge community centre. Whist Drives take place every Tuesday night at 8 p.m, also at the Castlebridge community centre. New members are most welcome to both.

New Weekend Mass Schedule
Saturday: Cleariestown – 6 p.m.; Caroreigh – 8 p.m. Sunday: Trinity – 9 a.m.; Taghmon – 10.15 a.m.; Rathangan – 11.30 a.m.
This ensures there is a vigil Mass and Sunday morning Mass in both parishes. No special Masses on Sundays for funerals.
