Legacy Kitchens brings passion and design expertise to the heart of the home

Legacy Kitchens has been providing Calgarians with the best in kitchen designs, installation and customer service for 40 years.

The company is also a big winner in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards, with Gold medals for Favourite Kitchen Renovation/Remodelling Company and Favourite Cabinet-Making Company; and Silver for Favourite Home Renovation Company.

Legacy Kitchens chief executive officer Stephen Buller credits the company’s dedicated 100-person staff for its success, with many employees having worked at Legacy for 20, 25 or even 30-plus years. Last year, the company hit a huge milestone when it completed its 100,000th kitchen in Calgary.

Buller says they also have a long relationship with many of the trades they engage for projects, “so there is a commitment by everyone to taking care of the customer and trying to do our best to make sure that we’re meeting and exceeding expectations.”

Legacy Kitchens’ leadership believes in opportunities for transformation, not only in their customers’ homes, but for their staff as well.

“Many have grown in their roles or their positions,” says Buller. “The uniqueness that each individual brings also influences the company. So, taking ideas from them and improving how we do the work is also a big part of (our approach).”

With the kitchen often described as the heart of a home, the work Legacy Kitchens does takes on extra importance.

“The kitchen is where everything happens,” says Buller. “Relationships develop with family, with friends. There’s laughter, there’s joy, there’s tears, it all kind of revolves around that room.

“And we get to impact that, right? We get to be involved in creating that space for a customer where all that intimacy happens. It’s an amazing privilege.”

For many Calgarians, their dream kitchen begins with a visit to Legacy Kitchens’ Calgary design and renovation showroom at 2980 Sunridge Way N.E., where kitchen layouts and products are on display.

Buller says it gives people an opportunity to touch the products and experience the company’s commitment to quality.

Legacy Kitchens also stands out thanks to the design expertise the team can offer its customers, adds Buller.

“One of our core values is really trying to understand what that homeowner is seeking to do, how they use their kitchen, what’s important to them in that space. And so, we approach that design phase really, really carefully.”

During installation, Legacy Kitchens has a reputation for staying on schedule and completing projects with the respect needed when coming into people’s homes. Buller says trades and staff are always aware they’re in someone’s home, “and it’s precious to that homeowner, so we want to act accordingly.”

As a family-owned business now under its second-generation management, Legacy Kitchens has numerous satisfied customers, whom the company greatly appreciates.

“Thank you,” Buller says. “We wouldn’t be here without our amazing customers that have handed us that trust of renovating their important sanctuary.

“And the testimony of those great clients helps us continue to build on the reputation that we have.”
